Ask me about my (Icelandic) Weiner

If you don’t try a hotdog in Iceland, you should probably gtfo. Not only are they cheap, which is a nice surprise for this pricey country, but they’re delicious.

So what makes these glizzys stand out from your normal ball park dog? Well for one, they’re made from mostly Icelandic lamb, which is top notch. But they are also served on a steamed bun with remoulade, ketchup, sweet brown mustard, and both raw and crispy fried onions. It gives loads of flavor and a little “pop” as you bite into it. Yumm. This hotdog definitely went to private school. The most famous hot dog stand in Iceland is called Baejarins Beztu Pylsur (don’t ask me to pronounce that.. or any Icelandic word for that matter). It is easy to find near the water in downtown Reykavik. Expect a line, but it moves fast. However, if you don’t feel like waiting in line, even a gas station dog in Iceland is *chef’s kiss* perfection.
