Gruezi from Switzerland!
Switzerland is just what I imagined: clean streets, charming architecture, friendly people, attractive men, oh and the smell of chocolate and cheese wafting through the air is a huge plus... just like the flag... sorry. had to.

My sister and I touched down in rainy Zurich at around 6am, and although we were pretty much walking zombies from lack of sleep, we were set on making the most of our first day in Switzerland.
We put on our puffy coats and thick socks then hopped in a taxi to the bus terminal... and what a wake up call that was. People have always told me that Switzerland is an expensive country, but it wasn’t until I paid 20 CHF (essentially $20) for a 5-minute taxi ride that I realized it. Tschüss, savings!
We got on the bus and headed to Lucerne, a quaint town about 45 minutes outside of Zurich. We strolled along the cobblestone paths, down alleys (mom, I promise they weren’t sketchy), across bridges, and took in the beauty that was all around us. We even experienced a local Swiss farmer’s market!

By this point, it was full on pouring, but thankfully Lucerne is known for the oldest, covered wooden bridge in Europe. Shelter, here we come!

After hitting the highlights of Lucerne, it was time to head to the Swiss Alps, which honestly has been on my bucket list since I was old enough to write a bucket list. After a bus ride, three cable cars, and an escalator, we made it to the top of FREEZING Mount Titlis. It was no longer raining, but straight up snowing. Snowstorm Stella 2.0??

There was so much to do on Mount Titlis—from skiing and sledding (or as the Swiss call is ‘sledging’), to Europe’s highest suspension bridge and an ice cave. Unfortunately, since the weather was so bad, we were banned from a couple activities, but we still managed to freeze our asses off and have a good time.

But with that being said... we still haven’t seen the Swiss Alps. Oh well, just another excuse to come back to Switzerland!
