Puerto Madryn, Argentina

After docking, we disembarked the ship and met our local tour guide—a large animal veterinarian who gives tours on the side. We left the sandy shores of Puerto Madryn and headed to Punta Loma, a sea lion reserve. As we were driving, the scenery began to change to an almost desert feel. For most of the time we were off-roading and swerving from side to side to avoid hitting a pothole, which seems like the norm here. Even the real roads looked like sidewalks made of concrete rather than asphalt.

Once we made it to the sea lion reserve, we got out of the truck and immediately heard screeching that sounded almost like a mix of a cow and a sheep. It was the sea lions. They are LOUD and MASSIVE! It kind of reminded me of Barron.

Once we stared at the sea lions for quite a bit of time, we headed back into town where our tour guide dropped us off. We walked around the town on our own and soon found out there really isn’t much to it. There were a couple of shops and restaurants, but since it was only 11am at this point, not too many restaurants were open. Since we had already finished exploring the tiny town and the weather was nice and sunny, we went back to the ship and had a pool day. With our daiquiris in hand, we sat back and relaxed.

he strong sun took a toll on my skin, AKA I got burnt, so it was time to go inside. We made it just in time for trivia too—my favorite! Following trivia, a long shower, and eating, we saw Oli Nez perform in the Celebrity Theater. He is a lively saxophone player who also had a comedian vibe to him. He was very entertaining.
