Florence, Italy
--The first thing I noticed when I got off the ship was a man riding a bicycle with a poodle in the basket… yup. I love Italy. And miss Wilson.
--We went straight to the train station and there was 5 minutes until the next train to Pisa and the one after that wasn’t for another hour. So we purchased our tickets and ran to the train. Of course we couldn’t find where we needed to go.. there were no signs or help at all. Was our train platform hiding? Was it platform 9 and ¾ like in harry potter? So we missed that stupid train. Bad luck at the train station already. At least that train wasn’t even 3 USD.
--We finally made it to Pisa! It was just as I had remembered it. It really is hilarious to watch all the people try to hold the tower up or kick it down. Haha, but we did it too. YOLO.

--We went to Florence from there and found our typical cheapo hostel, which was actually in a really good location. Our first priority after we found a place to stay and set our stuff down was GELATO! Yummm. We kept walking around and saw the Duomo and it’s beautiful, intricate architecture. I could just stare at it forever. It was stunning. I wonder how long it took them to build it? Hmmm. We kind of got lost wandering after that, but then some nice guy in a shop gave us a map for free! Woo!

--Ponto Vecchio was our next stop. We walked across the bridge and got some dinner- my first pizza Margherita of Italy. We just walked around there and came to the square with the “fake david” statue along with other statues. Then we stopped for some Gelato at this poppin place. It seriously looked like a club with all different colored lights and loud music. It had so many flavors of gelato! I had fresh strawberry. That counts as my daily dose of fruit right?

--While crossing the street come creepy Italian dude came up kind of behind me and said ciao all creepily with the whole eyebrow raise.. ekk. The second that little green man showed up on the signal I power walked as fast as I could. I mean I could have been in the Olympics with that power walk. I killed it.
--We were exhausted and our feet all killed after how much we walked, so we went back to the hostel and passed out at like 10 to get up at 6:30am to walk around more and supposedly some market opens at 7.
xoxo,
Em
