Crete, Greece

--Greek people are very nice and friendly. (First place we've gone that they actually speak a lot of English!)

--When in doubt, just shout Opa!

--My professor taught us that if you say “F. Harry Stow” in English fast it sounds like the Greek word for Thank you.

--Nay is the Greek word for yes and Ohee (like okay) is the Greek word for no… it is also very confusing because nodding your head means no and shaking your head means yes.. that being said, I tried to avoid those words.

--Free wine tasting at 11 am in which the wine is not just a taste but rather a full glass results in a bunch of drunk college kids.

--Second wine tasting: causes two girls in our group to blackout.

--Lunch: GREEEEEEEKK FOOODD = da bomb dot com. Greek Salad is just a bunch of peppers, onions, fresh tomatoes, and FETA CHEESE. A huge ass block of feta! Nom!

--Malia Bound: Malia is literally club row. Club after club after club. We went to Malia with no plans, but to go out that night. We had no place to stay, but thank goodness while we were eating dinner (an icecream sundae for me! Hehe) the waiter, who was British by the way, told us that the place next door might have a couple rooms. We all paid only 15 Euros for this shitty place that had no comforter on the bed, no air conditioner, and no towels. But hey, we were only sleeping there one night so we survived. Oh and since this was spontaneous, we didn’t have a change of clothes from our sweaty, winery, clubby, clothes. STAAANNKKYY.

--Club hopping: Nightlife starts at 9pm-6am. But we asked our little British friend/waiter and he said that stuff really doesn’t start going until 1am. We got a free fishbowl from our waiter too. Haha. He loved us. So we were looking for a place to bust a move at cause we just really wanted to dance. We started dancing at one club and it was kind of empty so we moved to another one and kept repeating this until we got to a club named “Zig Zag”. It was crazy! I even danced on an elevated surface and next to a pole. YOLO. So much fun… except when like five creepy guys kept trying to grab my hand and dance with me. Uhh. NO. Bye bye.

--We made it back to the room by like 4 am and woke up at 8am.

--After getting back to the ship I took the best shower of my life. It has never felt so great to shower.

--We headed back out after our glorious showers and walked to the city centre. It was cool. Lots of fun, cute shops. We ate some more Greek food! I had a Pita Gyro, which was fabulous! And Ben & Jerry’s was giving away free ice cream so we got that too :) OPA!

Em
